Introduction

Abstract

“Economy of Regions” has for many years occupied a leading position among Russian economic
journals, which is confirmed by its high indicators in national and international databases and citation
indices. The Journal is ranked as Q2 in SJR, CiteScore and SNIP Scopus in the subject area “Economics,
Econometrics and Finance”, and as Q3 in Web of Science (ESCI). “Economy of Regions” is categorised
as K1 in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission and as Level 1 in the Russian “White List”
of scientific journals; it is also included in the core of the Russian Index of Science Citation (RISC). Over
the past few years, the Journal has been included in new databases and citation indices: DOAJ, Open
Alex, Redalyc, etc. This means that “Economy of Regions” has successfully passed the quality evaluation
and has a wide international audience.
