About the Journal
Aims and scope
Economy of Regions is a peer-reviewed journal providing a platform for academic debate in the field of regional economics. As well as examining the effects of general economic processes on the regional economy, published articles compare similar economic trends observed in different regions. A region is understood in a broad sense: from territorial entities located within countries, macro-regions located within states and spanning different countries, to individual countries and groups of countries. Interdisciplinary research is encouraged provided its main focus is on regional economics. The main topics are as follows:
- regional development
- urban and rural development
- regional social and economic policies
- spatial development
- regional management
- resource management
- regional demographics
- environmental and economic development
- regional infrastructure
Practice-oriented research papers that analyse relevant data and present recommendations are preferred. As well as original research papers, the journal publishes reviews and editorials. The main audience of the journal comprises researchers, practitioners and policymakers interested in spatial economic issues.
