Economy of Regions will become gold open access journal

Until now, the journal was financed by two founders: the Institute of Economics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Ural Federal University. In the two decades from its foundation in 2005, Economy of Regions has taken a leading position among Russian economic journals. Since 2010, the journal has been indexed in Scopus, since 2016 – in Web of Science (ESCI), as well as in DOAJ, Ulrich Periodical Directory and others. At the national level, Economy of Regions is assigned to the first level in the White List of Scientific Journals, and is indexing in RSCI, RISC and etc.

The management of high quality editorial process, including peer-review, proof-reading, translation and online editorial system supporting in accordance with international publication standards require increasing financial costs. At the same time, the Editorial Team of Economy of Regions holds to maintain full open access to the journal content for the international academic audience. In this regard, it was decided that a fee will be charged from the authors of all articles received after January 10, 2025. APC will only be payable after the article is accepted for publication following peer review. More detailed information will be posted soon on the journal's website: www.economyofregions.org.

The Editorial Board of Economy of Regions believes that these changes will help to maintain the high quality of publications and gain opportunities for further development in the interests of the authors, their organizations and science as a whole.
